On-line Summary Submittal:

Prospective authors must submit a summary by September 10, 2010. The summary must include a clear definition of the objective and approach of the work discussed, pointing out material that is new, and must present sufficient details regarding results. The presentation and manuscript must not be of a commercial nature nor can they have been previously published. Because a limited number of papers will be accepted for presentation, the summary must be complete enough to allow for careful assessment of the paper's suitability for this symposium. Authors will be notified of acceptance of their papers for presentation by November 19, 2010, and may be updated as late as January 10, 2011 if previously accepted.

To ensure proper formatting of tables, figures or symbols, Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) documents are strongly preferred. Microsoft Word documents will also be accepted. The summary must be at least 300 words of narative, and should not exceed 2 pages in length. Paper size is 8 1/2 x 11 inches with 1 inch margins. Font should be Times Roman, 10 pt, single line spacing. Title of the paper, and names and organizations of all authors should be included in the summary. A footnote acknowledging support, as may be required by your funding agency, is permitted. Up to 3 figures and/or tables may be included. Lettering in figures and tables should be no smaller than 10 pt. Detailed instructions and template in Microsoft Word can be downloaded ( WORD, PDF).

Author Obligation to ASTM International: ASTM International reserves the right of FIRST PUBLICATION of any papers accepted for presentation. If an author has a paper accepted for presentation, the paper must not be submitted elsewhere for publication without the written consent of ASTM. If published by ASTM, the paper becomes the copyright property of ASTM. By submitting an abstract, the author commits to submitting a paper for peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of ASTM International (JAI). For U.S. and foreign government employees whose manuscripts have been prepared as a part of their official duties, it is understood that copyright is not available.

The acceptance of this Electronic Submittal Form does not constitute acceptance of your paper for publication.
